HOW TO GET RID OF PUFFY EYES---- BY MEGHA

Nowadays everyone including me is really into skincare and body care. But the part of the body which we usually neglect is our eyes. Anyone can experience droopy, baggy, and puffy eyes irrespective of their age. Undereye puffiness is mostly the result of fatigue and stress. Now our screen time intentionally or unintentionally has increased which is the reason we always wake up with that "morning puff."

There is no need to cure it medically as there are numerous tricks and homemade recipes to get rid of puffy eyes.

Some of which I will be sharing with you.

1. Avoid using phone just after waking up

Okay, so is it impossible for you to wake up bright-eyed? I can relate to this. What it is that you do wrong when you wake up? USING YOUR PHONE FIRST THING IN THE MORNING. If you want to wake up fresh and bright-eyed you need to make this change in your routine. You should not use your phone for at least half an hour after waking up. Besides this 7-8 hours sleep is required so that you don't wake up with that morning puffiness.

2. Stay hydrated

Yes, water is the solution to every skin problem. Puffy eyes can be a result of dehydration, so it is important to make sure that you are having enough fluid throughout the day. How much water you should drink depend on person to person and also on the climate. I try to drink 2-3 liters of water a day.

3. Watch your salt intake

Do you know the reason why you are asked to have salt in moderation while losing weight? This is because salt makes you retain fluid and that makes you bloated everywhere, especially near the eyes where there's less space for fluid to disperse and in return makes your eyes puffy. Lower your salt intake by avoiding prepacked food, pizzas, burgers, etc. to avoid water retention near your eyes.

4. Wear a sunscreen

You have already been applying sunscreen on your whole face, and if you are not then you should. I apply an extra layer around my eyes so that they are protected from the UV rays which can cause puffy eyes, and dark circles. The area around your eyes is delicate and it needs to be protected.

5. Home remedies

A) Make a cool compress

Rest a cool towel/washcloth on your eyes for about 10 minutes, this will help drain excess fluid from beneath your eyes. You can also use cool cucumber slices instead.

B) Sliced potato

Cut two slices of potato, each should be large enough to cover the eye area. Place it on your eyes for 10-15 minutes until the potato dries up. This remedy will give you instant relief from the puffiness as potato has an anti-inflammatory enzyme which can improve bagginess and can diminish dark circles.

C) Green tea bags

Soak 2 green tea bags in ice water for several minutes, then place the tea bags on your eyes and rest for 15-20 minutes for the best results. Green tea is packed with antioxidants plus it has anti-inflammatory properties, making it optimal to treat puffiness.

D) Egg white

Whisk two egg whites until its smooth and gently apply it under your eyes and leave for 20-30 minutes and then wash it with lukewarm water. Egg white acts as an astringent/toner to temporary tighten swollen skin.

E) Vitamin-E oil

Mix a few drops of vitamin-E oil in a bowl of cold water. Dip 2 cotton pads in the mix and gently keep it on your eyes for 20 minutes. You can also mix the vitamin-E oil in your moisturizer and can apply it at night. Vitamin-E oil is a powerhouse of antioxidants, which neutralizes the free radicals around your eyes and soothes your undereye puffiness.
